After six weeks of convalescing, Mark is headed back to work. He's doing great overall, but I think it will take him a while to build his stamina back up.

I just was struggling with a title.

Anyway, we went over to Jason's the other day for supper with him and Marshall. I ended up cooking - salad and lentil soup. We used the rest of the strawberries from our strawberry picking to make shortcake. Marshall has a "special" way of icing the angel food cake with cool whip. It's always good to see a few of my favorite schmucks. ;)

Fun With Home Improvement

Mark and I (more Mark, less I) worked on Mom's bathroom over the weekend. We had previously taken down the wall paper. We painted with a textured paint that was made to hide wall imperfections - not fun! It is a work in progress!

What's Up, Spike?

One day I gave Seth a faux-hawk when we were goofing around and he loved it. It may have been a mistake because now he asks to have "spikeys" in a regular basis. We got some funny looks when we went to the grocery store with this 'do!

Yum!

Every once in a while Mark and I will make something a little different for dinner. We made this risotto and it turned out great. Even Seth enjoyed the "cheesy rice".

After we had played for about an hour or so we got a phone call from Jason. He had an "emergency" - his cable was out and he needed Mark to fix it. I'm glad it was only a few blocks away because the roads were already getting snowy. When we got to Jason's we saw all the work that is being done on his house. He had the wall between the dining room and living room knocked down and it looks so much bigger. He is also getting granite counter tops, re-acing the cabinets and getting the hardwoods refinished. I lived in this house for five years and I'm not even going to recognize it when it's done.

We got to see Marshall too. We hadn't seen him since Seth's birthday! and he always cracks me up. He said, "I can't cook in this weather. I'm going to Wendy's."

The Good With the Bad

Unfortunately, Papa George has been in the hospital. He is doing a bit better and we are all sending lots of prayers his way. Even though we were worried, we had a great day with Trey who got to come visit while his mom worked and Mimi was at the hospital.

Every time I come across this photo, I laugh. I love how that little finger is sneaking in for a taste of icing just as I am snapping a shot of Mom and Grandma's birthday cake!

A Nice Visit

Carlee brought Austin & Lacey over for a visit. We used to see them everyday so it's nice to get to see them whenever they are in town. We had wings and pizza and gave them their Christmas gifts. We had so much fun letting them pick out toys from the ebay room. Austin got a bunch of legos and Lacey picked out some Polly Pockets and dress up clothes.
