I don't want to forget...

Seth never stops surprising me or making me laugh with the things he says. Here are a few recent quotes:

Seth was playing with his magnetic fishing game. As he gently pulled the magnet closer to the fish he slowly said, "Wait for it. Wait for it," just before the fish were snapped up by the pole. I think he got that one from his daddy.

When I was drying Seth off from his bath, he asked me what I was wearing. I told him I was wearing a shirt and jeans and asked him what he was wearing. He replied, "I'm wearing my hiney." Of course he was!

One day when we were visiting a farm we heard a tractor start up. Seth asked, "What's that noise? It's making me nervous." He is always aware of sounds around him.

One day when Seth was at Mimi's, she was on the phone and didn't realize that Seth had climbed up to the table and grabbed a pitcher of Kool Aid. She was surprised to see him with his hand splashing in the pitcher and asked him what he was doing. "It's the honey pot," he said. She told him it's a pitcher of Kool Aid and that he needed to put it down, to which he matter of factly replied, "It's the honey pot."I think we have been reading too much Winnie the Pooh!

Daredevil

Seth is growing up so fast and absolutely fearless! Today while we were swimming at Mimi's, he kept asking if he could jump off of the diving board. Finally, we agreed to it and he jumped right to (or I should say on) me. Of course, he had on a floaty vest and swimmies. As soon as we got to the side of the pool, he wanted to do it again. I think he would still be jumping if it hadn't started to storm. I cannot believe my tiny little baby is jumping off of a diving board! There is a video that I will hopefully figure out how to post later.

A Quiet 4th of July

Since we were out of town last weekend and will be again next weekend, we decided to just stay home for the 4th of July and relax. We just hung around the house all day. Marked grilled Knob Hill Chicken (topped with ham and provolone) and I made pasta salad and corn on the cob. My little sparkler looked so cute in his red, white and blue attire. We decided to head downtown to catch the fireworks after the Blowfish baseball game. The game started at seven, so we left home at about 9:15. We found the perfect spot and waited. And waited. And waited. Luckily, I had a stack of books that I just bought to read to Seth. ( He LOVED So Say the Little Monkeys!) He ended up falling asleep. Finally we started home at 11:15. As we passed by the field we heard the announcer say that it was about to start, so we pulled over in a less than perfect spot. We got out and I told Seth the fireworks were about to start. He woke right up and enjoyed them. Then fell right back to sleep on the way home. We later found out that the baseball game lasted thirteen innings and that's why it started so late. This morning, the first thing Seth said to be was, "Those fireworks were so beautiful." That made it all worth it. Happy Birthday USA!

Thursday Thirteen

1 - Rain - Even though I prefer sunny days, a good, sleepy, rainy day is nice now and again.

2 - Roast - I think the Comedy Central roasts are hilarious and always watch the new ones when they come out.

3 - Recipes - I enjoy looking at cookbooks and trying new dishes.

4 - Remember - I am so glad that I started this blog. I want to remember all of these special times.

5 - Relax - I find it difficult to relax in general but I always feel relaxed around the water.

6 - Real - I'd much rather be friends with someone who is real than someone who is perfect.

7 - Read - I love to read and used to read all of the time. I haven't read a novel since Seth was born. Every time I start, I either fall asleep or get interrupted.

8 - Recall - I have a very good memory. (Although it's not as sharp as it used to be.)

9 - Reality TV - Admittedly a junkie.

10 - Rainbow - Always an inspiring sight.

11 - Rude - I have little tolerance for people who only consider their own feelings.

12 - Risotto - Mark and I have made it a few times, but haven't perfected it yet.

13 - Recycle - Something I would like to do more of.
