Good Music?
"Mom, how do you spell Justin Bieber? We need some good music for our dance off." Parenting failure.

Happy Birthday Dad
Today would have been my dad's 61st birthday. We always celebrated Father's Day, his birthday and Dana's
birthday together. Seth said he wants to start a new tradition.
"Whenever anyone that we love who is in Heaven has a birthday, we should bake them a
cake and bury it. That way it will rise up and they can eat it up
there."

The Sharpie Incident
Seth had the bright idea to draw all over his face with a Sharpie while I was on the phone with Dana.
Now, I'm reading the article "How to Remove Permanent Marker From Skin
in 13 Steps". If my papa were here, I know exactly what he would say,
"When and idea gets loose in an empty head, it has the time of its
life." Sigh.

Vocab
M: Seth, I'm really proud of your reading.
S: You can say fluency, Mom. I know what that means.

Papa
Today would have been my Papa's birthday. He always told me "a girl without freckles is like a night without stars" and "when an idea gets loose in an empty head it has the time of it's life." He taught me how to parallel park, what matzos are and what the word family means, as well as some moderately questionable lyrics. He was one of the good guys.

When I grow up...
S: When I grow up I want to be a Pitbull.
M: A Pitbull is a kind of dog.
S: OK. Well then I want to be a parolee.
(He had seen a commercial for a show called Pitbulls and Parolees.)

Proud Mama
Seth
made the honor roll again and scored two goals at soccer tonight! I'm so
proud of everything he does, but I'm even more proud of the fact that
teachers, staff, etc.. always tell me what a sweet and wonderful boy he
is. (I already knew. ) I
don't know how I got so lucky to be blessed with the gift of being the
mommy to such a caring, funny, amazing little human being. Love that
kid!
