Folly Beach - Day 4

More rain. More cold. In the morning, we drove to Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms, just for the heck of it. We went to lunch at Olympik Deli, the restaurant Mark and I used to work at when we lived down there, and got to see "Mr. Chef Ali the Great." We went by a JI neighborhood park where Mark used to fish.
We also stopped at Bagel Nation and got our favorites that we can only get in Charleston - Chunky Monkey. Yum! The boys slipped out to do a little fishing in the afternoon, while I caught a cat nap. They came home with a surprise. A ticket from DNR! Apparently, the laws have changed. When we lived there, you could fish from land into salt water without a fishing license. He gave Miles a warning and Mark got the minimum fine $160. It could be written up to $1050! Needless to say,the next day fishing licenses were purchased. They should have to let you know when laws change!

Other than that, we just hung out at the condo. Even with the bad weather, it was still nice to get away.

Folly Beach - Day 3

On Wednesday, it rained - all day. Seth and Mimi played operation Shrek in the morning and we just played inside. Mary and John came by for visit and then Mimi and Papa George headed home. That afternoon, we watched The Legend of the Guardians - a very vivid animated movie about owls. That night, we went to dinner on King Street and drove around in downtown Charleston. Even when it's rainy, it sure is nice to look out your backdoor at the ocean. I love falling asleep to crashing waves and slept with the door open every night.

Folly Beach - Day 2

On the second day of vacation, the skies were cloudy and it was cold but it wasn't raining. Mark, Seth Miles and I went fishing for a while at the marina. Seth hit the jackpot. He loves throwing rocks into the river, so a huge pile of oyster shells on the inlet was right up his alley!

We spent some time inside and went to dinner on the pier. When we got home, I let Seth put on his bathing suit and gave him a huge bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub. At least he could swim in the bathtub! We all played a rousing game of Pictionary Man before heading to bed. Mark and I stayed up and watched Up in the Air.

Folly Beach - Day 1

We got to the beach at about 4:00 and checked into the condo. It was very nice and in a great location. The weather was chilly and rainy, but we were expecting it. Miles rode with us and Mimi and Papa George met us there. We just spent a little time settling in and enjoying the balcony. The rain was just light and then cleared up, so Seth and I decided to take advantage of the beach for a while. We all went to dinner at the Starfish Grill on James Island and then spent a quiet evening at home.

P.S. Since when do we need to make sure we have so many wires packed to go out of town? I need one wire that does it all!
