Dear Santa,

How is Nick? Tell him I said, "Hi." When I come to sit on your lap, I 'm going to bring you a card.  I have been a good boy all week & all year. Could you bring me some Star Wars Legos, a Pillow Pet with a little Pillow Pet and a bug bubble blower? I'm going to be at my grandma's this year, so stop at the sign that says "Santa Stops Here". Have a safe trip.

Yours Truely,
Seth

A Mouse in the House

My mom would probably not love the idea of me blogging about this, but I have no choice!

The day after Thanksgiving, we were decorating my mom's house. Mark handed me a box down from the attic and I saw something scurry out of the corner of my eye. I dropped the box and screamed. Mark came down and checked the box out. A mother mouse had made a home inside of the nativity and was nursing four baby mice. We took them to the church at the end of the road and released them in the back of the parking lot in a wooded area with some old building supplies. Seth was loving every minute of it - probably as much as my mom was hating it! Their new home looked like a perfect place to raise a young mouse family and I hope they will be very happy there.

Team Spirit Day

Seth proudly donned his Gamecock jersey for team spirit day at school, just before the Carolina Clemson game.

The Busy Season

What I like to refer to as "The Busy Season"  is in full swing! In November & December we have so much going on and many trips to Charlotte. During this time we celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas along with many birthdays - me, Sophia, Mom, Grandma, Mimi and Chase and many other fun activities. Carol and Will's birthdays are in there too, but they live in Pa. I'm not complaining though. I love the Busy Season!

Yellow Fellow

I LOVE the way Seth looks in a bright yellow shirt. It is definitely his color. They are kind of hard to come by, so I buy them whenever I come across them. I sure do love my handsome boy!

Gratitude Turkey

Every year we make a turkey and each night add feathers with things we are grateful for written on them. This year we decided to make him out of a pumpkin and I think he turned out great. Some of the things we are thankful for this year are family, legos, Pup-Pup, Angry Birds, God, days off and family game night. This is one of my favorite traditions!

Loosey Goosey

Seth had been complaining about a sore tooth and my first thought was, "Oh no! Another cavity!" I was planning on making an appointment at the dentist. When we were brushing his teeth one morning we noticed the slightest bit of pink when he spit. I also noticed that the two bottom teeth have a larger than usual gap in them. Upon closer inspection, he has not one, but two loose teeth. He has been so jealous of other kids in his class who have lost teeth and is super excited. I thought it was too soon for this. Just another way our baby is growing up!

Seth Quotes

"I think Aunt Stacy is the only one in the whole world who doesn't love the Gamecocks."

What do you wear to bed at night?  "Jabamas."

"Mom will you please tell me a story with Spider-Man but no princesses or marrying?"

"What does hot lips mean mom? Like a dragon?"

"This family really isn't working out for me." (When he was upset in the back seat on the way home from a wedding with me, Mark, Stacy and Trey. :( But he was over it in a minute or two!

His response to a question I didn't have the answer to: "Well let's just ask 'Arack' Obama. He would know."

Report Card Day

Seth got his very first report card the other day and he is doing an excellent job! We surprised him with a Cad Bane Lego Star Wars Minfig that we had stashed away for Christmas. To the untrained eye, this just looks like a tiny piece of plastic, but for those in the know (ie boys ages 5-45), it is a highly coveted prize. I hope report card day is always this happy!

The Pumpkin Book Project

For school, Seth had to turn a pumpkin into a book he had read. We had so much fun doing this project. We read the book The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear and painted the pumpkin to look like a strawberry. We turned an egg into a mouse and put a toy ladder on the side of the pumpkin. We also had fun looking at all of the other pumpkins at school. We are already planning our pumpkin for next year!
