Thursday Thirteen

1. Amy - My first name along with so many other girls born in the 70's.
2. Alan - My husband and son's middle name. Also, Mark and I both have first cousins with this name.
3. Articulate - Something I am not. I can formulate the thought perfectly in my head, but when I open my mouth it never quite sounds the way it did in my head.
4. American - I feel very fortunate and proud to be an American. Even though I don't always agree with everything the government does, I am so lucky to live in a country where that is ok.
5. Acid Reflux - The entire time I was pregnant with Seth, I had acid reflux. I probably used over a thousand tums while I was pregnant. He probably has incredibly strong bones since they're very high in calcium.
6. Adopted - Mark was adopted, but it absolutely feels no different than a "biological" family!
4. American - I feel very fortunate and proud to be an American. Even though I don't always agree with everything the government does, I am so lucky to live in a country where that is ok.

6. Adopted - Mark was adopted, but it absolutely feels no different than a "biological" family!
8. Alma - My maternal grandmother. It is an unusual name and I remember the others I have met with that name - a bartender on a cruise I went on and a lady who works at Bruegger's Bagels. She died when I was in high school. I still treasure the afghans she crocheted for me. She made one for all of her grandchildren, except me - I got two! :)
9. Alma Mater - I still remember the words to both my high school (Socastee) and college (USC) alma maters. My high school's was to the tune of Greensleeves aka Oh Christmas Tree.
10. Alphabetize - Whenever I try to organize my book shelves I can never decide if it should be in alphabetical order, by size or by catergory. It usually ends up being a jumble of the three. Maybe I should adopt the Library of Congress system.
11. Allergies - When I was a child I was allergic to chocolate and citrus fruit but those went away around age 8. On Easter I always got white chocolate in my basket - which was no fun. Sometimes I would sneak chocolate and break out in a terrible, itchy rash. Now I have no allergies that I am aware of now.
12. American Idol - I am an American Idol junkie. I can't help it.
13. Anderson Cooper - I have had a crush on him since I was a teenager and he was on Channel One.

I don't want to forget....
all of the little songs I have made up and sung to Seth since he was tiny. They are mostly silly and to the tune of other songs but we have fun with them.
(To the tune of The Farmer in the Dell):
Good morning little boy, Good morning little boy,
I think you're very sweet, Good morning little boy.
(To the tune of This Old Man)
Up and down, Up and down,
Brush your teeth around and round
with a great big smile, every single day
and your teeth won't go away.
(Just something I made up when tickling him one day. It's goofy. I know.)
Oh, I'm gonna get that neck, neck.
Where'd that neck, neck go?
Oh, I'm gonna get that neck, neck.
Where's that neck? Hey! Yo!
(To the tune of Fred the Moose - each line is repeated back by "audience" - aka myself!)
There was a boy. (There was a boy)
He liked to play with all the toys. (He liked to play with all the toys.)

All Dogs Go To Heaven
S: Is Daddy here?
M: No, Daddy went to work already.
S: Is Leeole (Leizle) here?
M: No, she's not here.
S: Leeole in Heaben (Heaven) with da angels and da Baby Jesus.
M: That's right, Seth.
S: (a second of pondering) Do Leeole have a bone in Heaben?
M: I believe she does, Seth.
She probablly has a whole pile of them. Everything he says is cute, but this is one of my favorites!

Red and Blue
One day when Seth was getting a lollipop , I told him that Daddy likes the red ones. Now every time there is a choice of a color on something he says, "Daddy like red." He also says it whenever he notices the color red on anything. He must have said, "Daddy like red." over a hundred times yesterday - no exaggeration. He also has decided "Mommy like blue." He was adamant that I park in the blue parking space at the post office and I had to explain about handicapped parking. His favorite color changes from "lellow " to "geen". When we were reading books yesterday, I started to read a book about trains. He went running to his room and got another train book. "You read this one. Daddy like red and you like blue." Sure enough he was trading out a book with a red train on the cover for one with a blue train. Funny boy!

While I Was Away....
A brief overview of when I was offline:
A trip to Charlotte for the Super Bowl. The Steelers won - which is like a national holiday for our family.

Carlee killed her battery at school, which lead to a nice visit.

Lots of painting!

We had some great winter weather and have been able to go to the park and have picnics on several occasions.
And a good time was had by all!

My Poor Little Blog
My goal was to have 365 posts at the end of the year, but I have been without a computer for nearly three weeks. I have some catching up to do!
