Gratitude Turkey
Last year we started a new tradition and I hope we always keep it up. Seth paints a turkey and every day we each add another feather with something we are thankful written on t. So far, some of our feathers say family, seagulls, the seasons, memories of Papa, Baby Jesus and having everything we need. I think this is a great way for us to remember how truly blessed we are.

Another Sad Day
This week we are saddened by the loss of Mark's grandma. Although I'm sad for our family's loss, I'm blown away at the amazing life Grandma lead. She was born on 1923 in New Hampshire and as a teenager attended business school in New England. She joined the Navy along side sister in 1943 during WWII. In the Navy, she met her husband and they settled in SC where she became the mother of nine children and later had 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They ran a farm and she operated a local business for over 30 years. She was a founding member of her church and was steadfast in her faith. It sounds like an amazing 87 years to me.

Stacy had us over for a delicious birthday dinner of roast beef and lemon pound cake. Somehow, I only got a few pics. :(

Cute Quotes
Recently, at church the reverend said something about after the service. Seth looked up at me with a big smile and said excitedly, "There's going to be a circus!!"
"Dear God, Please make sure Papa is up in Heaven telling knock-knock jokes. Amen."
S: What do bush babies eat?
M: I'm not sure. We'll have to look it up.
S: I thought girls were smart.
S: Have you and Daddy danced under a harvest moon before?
M: Nope.
S: Well, you'll have to do that one night.
One day Carlee was visiting and Seth was getting dressed for bed. He pulled his underwear waaayyy up and said, "Mom likes to put my underwear up here, but I like them like this..." pulling them down on his hips.
One day I took Seth to Zesto's for lunch - a burger joint with all bright blue and white decor and a giant ice cream cone out front. As we were going in, Seth said, "Wow, Mom! This place looks fancy!"
Today was my birthday and Seth was devastated because he forgot to get the gift he had been planning for me, "the sharpest scissors in the world". Later in the evening he came over to me and wanted to give me a special birthday hug - the highlight of my day!

Birthday Weekend w/ Mom n Nem
This passed weekend, Seth and I went to Charlotte to celebrate my birthday. Poor Mark had to work. Seth had so much fun playing games with mom like knock the dudes down with a coaster and throw the dudes in the bumbo. Mom made chicken parmigiana amd pineapple upside down cake and I got lots of nice gifts. It was a nice weekend - but them again, every trip up there is special!
