Lake Hartwell Day 6

After we all got it together, we headed out on the boat again. We found a little island to dock at and explored the land. It looked like someone had set up camp - there was pallets and an old campfire. Seth found a skeleton of some kind (I think it may have been a dog! Yikes!) and it was the neatest thing he had ever seen. He insisted on keeping it and after we had left the island he cried because he forgot some of the bones and wanted to go back for them.  The water around the island was so clear and tons of little fish were swimming all around us. We all were maxed out on the sun and decided to stay home while Mark and Bobby returned the boat. When they got back, we all went out for seafood.

Lake Hartwell Day 5

In the morning we all enjoyed the lake and then took it easy in the afternoon. At 4:30 we headed to a marina to rent a pontoon. We all went and left two cars there over night so we could all ride back. The lake was beautiful. We had to keep checking buoys to make sure we were heading the right way and it took about 2 hours to get back home. Stacy had barbeque ready in the crock pot so we could eat when we got back. Seth, Mark, Stacy and I decided to go back out in the boat after dinner. We just tooled around a little and went under a little bridge that we couldn't quite clear! We broke the light off of the top of the boat but luckily it was only $15 to replace. I couldn't wait to go swimming in big water. Once we got out to open water, I jumped off the deck and....was terrified. I guess it was the combination of dusk, the boat seeming so tall next to me and not being as brave as I was when I was younger and invincible. The worst part was that I had do do it again right away because I promised Seth he could jump too and he wasn't going to let me out of it! I think I would have been fine in broad daylight, but that huge lake was a littlecreepy at dusk.

Lake Hartwell Day 4

Fish. Swim. Eat. I finally decided to swim across the cove and it wasn't nearly as far as I thought it would be. In the afternoon Seth, Mark, Stacy and I swam across to "Squatch Island" and explored the shore. Mark grilled steaks and I made dirt cake. Everyone liked it, but Trey LOVED it!
