Career Day
Friday was career day at school and the kids were to dress like what they want to be when they grow up. Seth could be anything he wanted and he chose to be a "Rock n Roll Superstar." He's got the look down pat!

MIA
The other day, Seth was eating a popsicle and then he all of a sudden couldn't find it. He said he still had half of it left, but we looked everywhere and couldn't find it. We deduced that he must have finished it and not realized. The next day I saw some weird liquid in the fridge. When I opened the butter compartment, this is what I saw:

Awards Day
Last week, we got an email saying that Seth was going to receive an award at awards day. We were quite excited and couldn't wait to see what it was for. His name was the first one called for the Author's Pen Award for displaying exceptional skill in writing. (He gets that from me.) He also got the Good Citizenship Award foe community spirit and leadership. (Also from me.) ;) We couldn't be more proud of that kid!

Sicky Sick
Seth and I went to church on Sunday and then to lunch after wards. He had been a little tired/quiet/huggy that morning and the night before, but I didn't think too much of it. I just assumed he was overtired from swimming and playing so hard the day before. All of a sudden, he started shivering and feeling awful. We got up and were going home, but he looked white as a ghost and was really feeling terrible, so we went to Doctor's Care. I was really worried because Seth really felt a sense of urgency to see the doctor. He kept saying stuff like, "Are we next?" and "I can't wait. I need to see the doctor now." When we got back there Seth had a 103.5 degree fever (The highest ever! He rarely gets sick.) and we were told that he had strep throat. We got his medicine and came home to get comfy. When we were changing Seth asked to wear some wintery pajamas. We snugged up on the couch and watched Treasure Buddies. He took it easy for the next day and a half. It really came on quickly and then left as fast as it came on. I'm so glad he's back to his old self!

Mother's Day Celebration
Since we were in Charlotte and Mark was working the previous weekend, we did Mother's Day with Mimi the following weekend. The boys had a great time in the pool, but it was super chilly. Mark grilled steaks and we all hung out. We gave Mimi a gift certificate for a mani/pedi. She looked confused when she read it and asked what it was. She started to laugh and said, "I thought it was for a pedometer. But I don't walk." Everyone cracked up.That wouldn't have been a very good gift for someone in a wheelchair. It was really funny, but I guess you had to be there.

Japan
We have been learning all about Japan with our cultural exchange. We have eaten sushi (Seth was not impressed.), learned about haiku, watched anime cartoons. played with chop sticks, read a Magic Tree House about Japan, and learned all about Japanese culture! I love it when learning is fun!

Poetry Night
Mark and I enjoyed an evening of poetry courtesy of EPA 5K. Here are Seth's poems that he read:
Animal Questions
A Bird A Bear
Which one has hair?
A Bird A Bear
Which one can fly in the air?
Colors
Birds are red.
Birds are blue.
I love you.
Birds are violet.
Birds are pink.
And white. I think.

Mother's Day Card
Mark always lets Seth choose whatever card he wants when he is picking one out for me. As a result, I have received some pretty funny/inappropriate cards in t he last 4 or so years. A chimp with red lipstick asking, "Do you think I'm sexy?" comes to mind. He usually chooses a card with a funny animal on the front. This year he got the card and when I read aloud, "Thanks for putting up with me, even when I was a little pain in the...well, you know." He replied, "Butt." He always makes me laugh!

Score!
The other day I was going through some old papers and I came across a Halloween card for Seth from his great-grandma (my grandma on my dad's side) from 2008 - just after he turned two.. I opened it up to read the note and a twenty dollar bill fell out. I showed it to Seth and he was SUPER excited. I told him he could do what ever he wanted with the money. He originally said he wanted to save some and spend some, but that was too good to be true. He ended up spending it all at Wal-Mart on some Legos and some little super hero toys.

Stacy's Birthday
We all got together for Stacy's birthday and had a good time. Stacy didn't make it into any pictures because she was feeling too pregnant to be photographed. (Our new niece, Presley, will be here this summer!) We did a little swimming, ate dinner, presents, dessert...you know....the usual.

Artsy
Seth found these little stickers out of a Chic-fil-A kids meal and decided to make his own goatee. He wore the all day until they fell apart/off. He reminded me of a little artist.
