Mud Mania!

We went to Mud Mania at Seven Oaks park today. It was packed out! There were about 1,500 kids there. They had a huge obstacle course for big kids and a mini mud course for kids seven and under. Seth wasn't wild about the mud. He didn't want to go down the mud slide, through the mud tubes or in the kiddie pools filled with mud - which was fine by me. He did enjoy the part that had pool noodles hanging down over a mud pit and went through it four times. After a bit he said, "I ready to get all clean."He loved the giant sand castle mountain and cried when it was time to leave.

Big Trip

Earlier this week we got home from our trip to Pittsburgh and I finally got a chance to update the ol' blog. We had a fantastic time visiting Great Grandma Bozurich, Uncle Chris, Aunt Carol, Nate and Will.
Seth loved Grandma's shower.
Grandma taught Seth this "children's" rhyme, and he hasn't stopped singing it:
Three, six, nine
The goose drank wine
The monkey chewed tobacco on the street car line
The line broke
The monkey choked
And they all went to heaven in a little green boat
Seth rode Papa's cow. Next time, we'll give her a paint job.
It just doesn't seem the same without him there.

We watched Uncle Chris coach Will's baseball team. The next night we got to see Nate play baseball.
Seth looked every bit the native in his Steelers outfit!

Seth and Mary Ann were like peas and carrots!
We saw lots of neat birds at the National Aviary.
The boys loved the tunnel in the penguin exhibit.

We saw the sights of downtown Pittsburgh,
and rode the incline up to the top of Mt. Washington. Seth loved it. Mark - not so much. When we got off Seth said, "I want my all aboard."
The trip home was filled with highs
and lows
as we drove among the clouds in the Virginia mountains.
But all in all Seth is a great traveler.
We already miss everyone and can't wait to visit 'yinz' again!

Imagine

I love to see Seth's budding imagination hard at work! The other day when he was in the tub he had so much fun with his toys. He had some little men in a boat (my bunt pan). They were jumping off the mountain into the ocean to search for the elusive giant water snake. After combing the waters, he was located in the cave (under Seth's legs).

Thursday Thirteen

1 - Monkeys - Seth's favorite animal.Sometimes he thinks he is one. He swings from anything that resembles a monkey bar and doesn't think twice about calling out monkey sounds in the middle of a crowded restaurant. I wouldn't change it for the world.

2 - Mudpies - Fun to make. Not to eat.

3 - Mark - My sweet husband.

4 - Mom - Now that I am one, I appreciate mine even more.

5 - Miles - My stepson. Also known as Milo, Milhouse, Mega, Meelays, Buyah, Miley Head, etc..
We have a love/hate relationship.

6/7 - Molly Madden - My cute, funny, sweet niece. She is six weeks to the day older than Seth.

8 - Marie - My mom and sister's middle name. Also my midwife who has been my mother in law's best friend since they were teenagers.

9- Mine - One of Seth's favorite words.

10 - Myrtle Beach - I lived in the Myrtle Beach area from fourth grade through high school. It was a fun place to grow up. I haven't been in years. I hear that I wouldn't even recognize it.

11 - Married - I love being married. It is the best decision I have ever made.

12 - Moon - What is it about the moon that draws us to it? It is captivating and so relaxing to look at.

13 - Move - Sometimes I feel like I'd like to move away to some exotic location. Then the thought of being away from my family brings me back to reality. We couldn't even handle being in Charleston!

Kissy Kissy

One of our playgroup friends had us over to her house in the country the other day. Seth had a blast. We saw goats, pigs, chickens, a rooster, dogs and bunnies. We even got to feed the donkey! Seth and the donkey made fast friends. Just as I was snapping this photo, Seth smooched him on his nose and said, "I lub
you donkey."

Quotable Seth

The funny things Seth says and does are unending. These are a few of the more recent ones:

When we went to visit Aunt Mary in Charleston a few weeks ago Seth was so excited. He chattered and sang the whole way there. When we arrived he got very quiet and timid. As I was unbuckling him from his seat I asked what was wrong. He replied, "I don't want to get married." I has to explain the he was visiting Aunt Mary, not getting married.

Seth pronounces words that start with F and W with a P. He has said, "What's pong (wrong) Mommy?" and "I pound (found) it!" Although I hope he grows up with no speech impediments, I find it hopelessly adorable.

Seth has developed a silly little snicker. I really can't find the words to describe it, but he does it when he is laughing along with someone or when he knows that an adult finds something humorous. It's too cute.

One day, Seth had been acting up and I told him that he needed to find his inner tranquility. He wanted to know where it was and he wanted to hold it. I explained that it wasn't something that can be held. It lives inside of his heart. I love to hear him tell people that his "inner tantility is leebing inside of my hot."

One night Seth woke up crying. When I went to see what was wrong, he told me that he bumped his head on the wall the other weekend. It must have been some bump!

Mark and I go to Starbucks about once a week and we brew coffee at home often. Seth has become obsessed with coffee and mocha. Whenever he sees a Starbucks cup he says, "Dat my mocha." or "I need my coffee." or "I lub mocha." When we were unpacking the groceries this evening he snatched up the creamer and said, "Dis go in my coffee." He also likes to ask if I'm going to make coffee. I hope we aren't teaching him an unhealthy relationship with caffeine. Dos this mean he's going to obsess over everything he can't have?

Thursday Thirteen

1 - Love - I love love!

2 - Leizle - My sweet doggy. I miss her so!

3 - Leon - My parent's dog. We got him for my Dad for Christmas 2001. He is a fluffy white Bichon Frise. I like it when Seth calls him Uncle Leon.

4- Lottery - I rarely play the lottery but buy a ticket for fun once in a while.

5 - Literature - I love a great book, but rarely read since I have become a parent. Every time I start to read, I fall asleep!

6- Lentil Soup - Mark makes the best.

7 - Love Bird - We had a Love Bird once. Miles and Carlee named it money bird because it reminded them of the printing on the new style of dollar bills when it came out. It didn't have a Love Bird to love. :(

8 - Lollipops - Seth enjoys a good lollipop. He always chooses red, because "Daddy like red."

9 - Ladybugs - The only bug I don't mind Seth picking up.

10 - Low Country - I immediately feel relaxed when I visit SC's Low Country.

11 - Lily - If Seth would have been a girl, there is a 50% chance this would have been his name.

12 - Lilac - The scent of lilac immediately brings me back to my childhood.

13 - Lynn - My middle name.

Mother's Day Photo Montage

We worked very hard on some special handmade gifts, which everyone loved.

Mimi and Grandma lover their Calla Lilies.
Sweet moments like this are some of the best parts of being a mom!

Seth spent a bit of time in timeout!

When Papa finished one of his world famous Nada, May & Nad stories, Seth said, "Do it again Papa! Pleeeease!" So he did.

I got spoiled!
Peek a boo!
We had a great visit a Mimi's.
